This month we ran our first Pinhoe TSC-certified Benchrest Instructor Course. A big thank you to Brian and Dan for generously giving their time and expertise to help deliver the course.
The course was developed in response to concerns raised around three months ago about a shortage of qualified Instructors in our Benchrest section. It closely followed the proposed NSRA Club Instructor (Benchrest) course framework, which has yet to be formally released. We hope the NSRA will finalise and publish the official version in the coming weeks, enabling us to transition to delivering the national standard.
Demand for the course was high, with participants travelling from as far as Manchester and Leicestershire. Nine more Benchrest Instructors were successfully qualified, meaning our Benchrest discipline now has more Instructors and Coaches than any other section in the Club. The total number of qualified Instructors and Coaches across the Club now stands at 30.
Our Range Conducting Officer course was also fully booked this month, with six Club members taking part alongside four visiting shooters from around the country. Those six now bring our total number of RCO-qualified members to over 100. I wonder how long it’ll take to reach 200?
Finally, we’ve updated the Training section of the website to give more detail about the courses we offer. These include the NSRA Club Instructor, Range Conducting Officer (RCO), and Scorers courses, as well as our own Eyesight, Triggering, and Natural Point of Aim workshops—designed to help improve your shooting.
Courses are run based on demand, so if you’re interested, just fill in the form to let us know what you’d like to see next.
