Firstly I would like to draw your attention to an important date. The AGM is scheduled for Tuesday 29th September. Almost at the moment Lindsay was sending out the notifications, that hopefully you will have received, Boris brought in his rule of 6. This tends to scupper a meeting of 30 in the range which is what we had planned. The AGM will therefore have to be a virtual one. This will involve you logging in to whichever service we use and those details will follow the week before the meeting. I know this is not ideal but we have little choice in the matter. I also appreciate that some of you may find it difficult to log in so I would urge you to read the documentation that will be sent prior to the meeting and then let Lindsay or I have your comments.

The AGM is not a rubber stamping exercise, it is for all members to have their say. If you would like to stand for any of the offices and/or the committee then please let our secretary Lindsay know.

It is good to see the range being used again and the booking system is proving effective. If you are not sure how to use the booking in system, then please contact Lindsay who will run you through it. You can pick it up from the website and you just need your club membership number. Once at the range the one-way system and tables for setting up are working well.

You may notice that there is a lot more activity on the new build now and this should be the case until its completion.  The contractor is now bringing in more labour and will be on site every day. There might be some car park issues with space as more materials are brought in so please “bear with”! I know that we have had many false starts but this time the main build will be finished in December.  The link between the new and old will happen thereafter when funds allow. We have put in a bid for a grant to cover that,  the result of which we will know in November.

There are now teams and competitions being formulated that will run through the winter season. Some of the events will be with fewer rounds than normal to allow for the situation. If you have not returned the form saying what shooting you would like to do then please ask Lindsay for another or return the original asap.

There is an outdoor shoot at Moretonhampstead on the weekend of 10th &11th October for prone, LSR and Benchrest. Chris Burrow is running it for the county so please contact him if you fancy a good outdoor shoot.

As always any thoughts ideas or advice please contact me or any member of the committee so that we can make this club “The Best in The West”
