Induction & Safety
Free · 1 hour · Required for all prospective members
The Induction & Safety session is the universal first step for anyone joining Pinhoe TSC. Whether you’re brand new to shooting or transferring from another club, you start here.

What it covers
- Range safety rules and commands — how the range is run, what to do if something goes wrong, and the language we use to keep everyone safe
- Facility tour — the ranges, the clubhouse, and how to find your way around
- Equipment overview — what’s available to use, what’s not, and how it’s stored
- Club procedures — opening hours, how a typical club night runs, and what’s expected of members
- Q&A with a Range Conducting Officer — your chance to ask anything you’re not sure about
The session is led by a qualified RCO and runs for about an hour.
What to bring
Nothing. You don’t need any kit, ID, or paperwork. Just turn up.
The range is open to club members and to entered competitors on competition days. Your Induction & Safety session is the first time you’ll visit the range — it’s how we make sure everyone is properly briefed before shooting begins.
How to book
Book your induction through our members area. You’ll be asked for your name and contact details, and we’ll get back to you with a date.
Book your induction →What happens next
After your induction, your path depends on whether you’ve shot at another club before:
- If you’re new to shooting — book onto our Give it a Go programme (£50, three coached sessions) before applying for probationary membership.
- If you’re transferring from another club — you can skip Give it a Go. Apply with a reference from your previous club for shortened (3-month) probationary membership.
