Triple win for Roxy Mounce at the Bideford Double Dewar

Pinhoe junior Roxy Mounce came away from the Bideford Double Dewar at Melbury Range on Sunday 17th May 2026 with three titles — Class B, Ladies and Junior — all on a score of 753 out of 800.

The course of fire

The Double Dewar is a demanding outdoor course: 80 shots with a .22 prone rifle, half at 50 metres and half at 100 yards, where reading the wind matters as much as holding the shot.

How the shooting went

Roxy's 753 won Class B by a clear 27 points from Keith Ellett on 726 — and would have held its own in Class A, where only the top three of Paul Batten (767), James Holloway (767) and Robin Batten (762) finished ahead of it.

The same score took the Ladies Prone title ahead of Amy Rudman (748), and the Junior Prone title by the same margin.

There was nearly a fourth trophy too. Paired with Pinhoe's Robin Batten in the A/B Pairs, the two combined for 1515 — a single point behind the winning pair of Paul Batten and Richard Miles on 1516.

Full results are on the Bideford TSC results page.

A season of progress

The win continues a strong run for Roxy, who took the Junior Southwest Champion title at Okehampton, shot her way into the Devon County Queen Alexandra Cup team, and won the time-limit competition at our own Pinhoe Trophy last November.

Congratulations Roxy — the whole club is looking forward to seeing where the next season takes you.
